Dr Kibisu Kabatesi, Musalia Mudavadi's aide, has dismissed reports that the former Vice President of Kenya failed to honour a Sh50,000 pledge to AFC Leopards. Kabatesi instead sought to clarify that Mudavadi gave a cash donation of a similar amount to Vihiga County Governor Moses Akaranga.

"Let it be clear that Mudavadi did not make a pledge, he instead gave his personal contribution through Akaranga who even announced the amount at the harambee," said Kabatesi.
