Prostitute clobbered for offering cheap rates

A commercial sex worker in Naivasha escaped death by a whisker and is nursing serious injuries after her colleagues unleashed terror on her for undercutting them by charging ridiculously low prices for her services.

Her bitter colleagues reigned on her with kicks and blows, accusing her of being uncooperative and ‘spoiling the market’ especially during end month, when demand for their services is high and clients have loaded pockets.

At some point, they threatened to circumcise her using a broken bottle, in their own words, “Ili iwe funzo…(to serve as a lesson to others) before she got rescued by night guards – majority of them her clientele, anyway!

It began late last month when the curvy and sexy looking woman of the night moved into the street to the displeasure of colleagues who immediately viewed her as a threat.

According to Peter, a motorcycle operator, the latest victim became a darling of many due to her attractive looks and light skin. Even better, unlike her colleagues, she not only offered ‘subisidised goods’ but also offered services on credit.

“Normally the price of a shot ranges from Sh100 to Sh500 at the street, depending on the customer. But ‘Brownie’ would charge as low as Sh50,” intimated Peter.

Her client base expanded, to the chagrin of jealous colleagues who schemed to teach her a lesson and get rid of her.

The plot was executed when her colleagues cornered her in the dark in a mob, attacking her viciously.

“Kwani unafikiria sisi tutakula wapi kama utaendelea kujiuza hii bei hasara (how do you expect us to survive if she sell yourself so cheaply)?” one of the women was overheard shouting.

Her screams attracted watchmen who dashed to the scene only to find her pleading for mercy from her enraged colleagues. Their attempts to rescue her were met with hostility and brute resistance. They were told off and asked to stay away because it was a women’s issues that didn’t concern them.

“Unajua huyu mama huwa ananipatia kwa credit on a bad day so siwezi muacha auliwe na hawa mikora (she offers me services on credit when I’m broke so I can’t let them kill her),” said one of the guards as he charged into the melee.

Other ‘clients’ joined in, rescued the badly bruised woman and rushed her to a  nearby private hospital.

It appears seasoned prostitutes control the street and must be paid a fee and informed in advance before any new girl joins the trade.

Meanwhile, Brownie is recovering from her injuries as her customers wait impatiently — negotiable rates, on credit.

“Maisha imekuwa ngumu sana na bei ya kila kitu, hata ya hawa wasichana imepanda sana. Tunaomba serikali iingilie kati (life has become too expensive to afford even a woman of the night and we appeal for government’s intervention),” one of the watchmen lamented.
