Football Kenya Federation (FKF) national office has ratified the suspension of two officials from its South Coast branch.
The federation’s emergency committee said the two, Hamisi Mwayoyo who was elected as the South Coast branch chairman and the Branch Women representative Asha Pili, were guilty of violating the federation’s constitution, thus warranting such discplinary measures.
In a statement FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya said: “The conduct by the two officials in handling football matters at the branch is a clear violation of our statutes and as a national office we have no choice but to endorse their suspension.”

The two were suspended by the South Coast branch one week ago but have since disputed the action and accused the national office of high handedness.
Nyamweya also warned other branches and club officials from engaging in any undertakings with suspended members, pointing out that action will be taken against those who ignore this directive.

“This is a new beginning and we have a clear mandate to promote football in the country something we are fully committed to with those who want to move with us,” said Nyamweya.
In dismissing her suspension, Asha Pili said a women’s tournament to be held on Jamhuri Day, for which she has been accused of illegally soliciting for funds, would go on as earlier planned in the coastal city of Mombasa.

“We have so far received some support from various sponsors and are going on with plans to hold the tournament as earlier planned irrespective of what others are saying,” she said.
The South Coast Branch Secretary Evans Mwachia also dismissed the suspensions, saying they were unconstitutional and they were not bound to recognise them.
“FKF South Coast branch has confidence in Mwayoyo and Pili and it would not recognise the alleged suspensions,” he said.
