Kasaya, Ochieng' trade baton for ball

Former Red Berets goalkeeper Wycliffe Kasaya has completed his switch to coastal side Bandari alongside paramilitary teammate Erick Ochieng’.

Kasaya, a promising Harambee Stars trialist, had made it clear he wanted to leave the General Service Unit to follow his heart, which is in football.

And he got his wish after Bandari rescued them from the military on June 9 in a deal Kasaya said, "He could not resist."

"At last my dream has come true," Kasaya said, after putting pen to paper.

The duo may not be fit though to face Rangers today, but Kasaya said he would be content to make the first 18.

"What is important is that I have a chance again to be somewhere I can play every week," the 23 year-old said.

Striker Eric Ochieng’ said he is excited to be back playing in the Kenyan Premier League.

"After we were relegated while at Red Berets and the subsequent dissolution of the team, I feared for football career," Ochieng, who has once been called up to the national team said.

New Bandari coach Rishadi Shedu has already recalled some of experienced players who were dropped after the team qualified for the Premier League.

Former captain and Harambee Stars midfield Ali Breik makes a return and so are Mohammed Islam and defender Philip Opiyo.
