AU, IGAD pledge full support for South Sudan's peace deal after high-level talks

The African Union Commission (AUC) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) have pledged continued backing for South Sudan's push toward peace and democratic governance.

In a joint statement issued Monday, May 5, following a two-day official visit to Juba, the AUC and IGAD said they were committed to working with South Sudan's government and people to maintain peace and promote national unity.
