AU Commission calls for cessation of hostilities in DRC

African Union Commission chairperson Moussa Faki, has raised alarm over the worsening security and humanitarian crisis in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

In a statement issued on January 25, 2025, from Addis Ababa, Faki expressed deep concern about the escalating tensions, which threaten the peace efforts under the Luanda process led by Angolan President Joao Manuel Lourenco.
