And now, announcing their face-lift in style, Utimo Sacco has unleashed a new ride named Mapepe.
The ride is expected to offer stiff competition to sworn rivals, Mwamba and Ummoiner mathrees.
The arrival of the dull bluish Mapepo is no paper weight, judging by the way it has made the ‘enemies of development’ mum at
least for a while.
Unlike other fleet under the Sacco, Mapepe is the only ‘nganya’ with alien but ‘sophisticated’ design.
Ken Mwangi operating under Utimo Sacco said: “Some people had branded us Sacco for elderly people, and so our decision to go for this kind of ride is meant to silence loud mouths”.
Mapepe whose bluish colour gives it a feminine touch, has
CCTV cameras, quality music and of course good customer service, says Mwangi.

Mapepe’s crew maintain that customers satisfaction is their driving force in the competitive matatu industry.
