BOXING: Nakuru boxers impress in league bouts

Boxers from Nakuru gave a good account of themselves despite losing 16-10 points to Kenya Defence Forces during the second edition of the Inter Regional League championships at Madison Square Garden, Nakuru over the weekend.

Three Nakuru players impressed the panel of judges on their defence skills and easily knocked out their opponents. They were National light welterweight champion John Kariuki, Fredrick Odhiambo in the light welterweight and Patrick Maina in the light heavyweight. Maina knocked out Humphrey Ochieng in the first round as Odhiambo beat Steve Onyango.
