Kenya: Kenya is increasingly becoming a lucrative market for app developers with top inventors experiencing over five million download to date.

This number is expected to grow with an increasing number of smart phones coming into the local market, within different platforms.

Mobile app developers under the Windows platform for instance will experience increased revenues after Nokia XL entered the local market this week.

The Mobile phone maker, which recently integrated with Microsoft is optimistic about growing the number of the current local apps available in their Nokia X and the just launched Nokia XL through their Microsoft windows platform.

Currently the NokiaX range has more than 460 apps from local developers which are found at their app store and few other external stores.

Lilian Nganda, Microsoft Communications Manager, told The Standard that local app developers should take advantage of the Microsoft platform to monetise their applications, especially now that Nokia XL is available in the Kenyan market.
