Are terror attacks on Kenyans meant to deflect attention?

I strongly condemn the cowardly attack on innocent Kenyans perpetrated by al-Shabaab. The pain of losing a loved is incomparable-no one can ever understand their pain right now. May God give you strength during this difficult moment.

One is left to wonder if we have an efficient intelligence service. Our security agencies are always reactive, with promises of bringing to book the perpetrators of such heinous crimes. Nothing happens thereafter, because Kenyans are very forgetful.

In the recent past, terror attacks are preceded by major government scandals, with the attention of making Kenyans deflect their attention and hasten their forgetfulness. At the moment there has been a raging debate on the Northern Water Collector Tunnel and of course DP’s suit against Mwangi and his counter suit.

Is it meant to deviate attention?
