Tusker dropped two crucial points when they were held to a 1-1 tie by Western Stima at Machakos Stadium yesterday.

The result leaves Tusker at the top of the log on 41 points, five more than second placed Gor Mahia. The result gives champions Gor Mahia, who play Posta Rangers today an advantage as they have an opportunity to bridge the gap with the leaders.

Allan Wanga had opened the scores for Tusker in the ninth minute. But the power men fought back and got the equaliser through Joash Onyango just before the break.

Coach Paul Nkata was a disappointed man after the result and even blamed the referee. "The referee was partial. Perhaps if he had been fair, the results would have been different," he said.

Stima coach Henri Omino was satisfied with the point though he pointed out that his side had wanted maximum points.

"Our goal was to rise to third spot and I am happy we pushed and got an equaliser quickly. We wanted to win but we are grateful for the point," he said.

"We defended well. Tusker threw everything at us preferring long balls which Wanga is every good at."
