Western leaders have mooted plans to tame CORD and harness the region to guarantee Jubilee support in 2017 general elections.

Speaking during a funds drive in aid of St Leonard Catholic Church in Mumias East, Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka and four MPs said the "honeymoon" for the Opposition in the region was over.

"I represent interests of both luhya nation and the region in Jubilee, which has initiated several projects," said Wamalwa.
