Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny keen on Roma stay

Wojciech Szczesny is desperate to quit Arsenal for Roma this summer.

The Poland international goalkeeper has impressed during his season-long loan with the Serie A club.

Szczesny was sent packing by Arsene Wenger following Petr Cech’s £10million arrival from Chelsea in June.

He was expected to return to the Emirates at the end of the season, so Cech's current back-up David Ospina can move on.

But after helping Roma all-but seal a Champions League spot, the 26-year-old now wants to make a permanent transfer to the Italian capital.

He said: “It’s not all up to me, obviously. I want it to happen, and I know Roma and Arsenal are talking about it.”
