Woman stabs boyfriend 22 times killing him in SMS feud in Buruburu, Nairobi

Police are holding a 21-year-old woman after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend 22 times killing him in a feud over a text message in Buruburu, Nairobi.

 The woman is in hospital but under arrest after she was removed from their house where she had stabbed her 24-year-old boyfriend after a commotion, police said.

 Police were called to the court Sunday and found the body of Farid Ahmed in a pool of blood in bed while the woman Kamanda Wanjiru had injuries in the legs and hands.

The killer knife was also taken away as an exhibit.

According to Buruburu OCPD Richard Kerich, investigations are ongoing to determine the chronology of events that led to the death of Ahmed.

He said when they arrived at the house, they found Wanjiru walking in the living room while holding a knife that had blood stains.

“She refused to open forcing police to force their way into the house where they found the deceased in a pool of blood. He had been stabbed 22 times while the woman also had stab wounds in the legs and hand,” said Kerich.

He said this gave an indication there had been a fight in the house. Neighbours said they heard commotion from the house and later alerted police who arrived several minutes after.

Wanjiru sustained injuries during the fight and is undergoing treatment at the Metropolitan Hospital in Buruburu.

The body of the man was removed from the room and taken to the mortuary even as his family demanded that they be given the remains for burial in according to Islam tradition.
