Senator Kipchumba Murkomen tells former leaders to stop criticism

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called on leaders from the region to work together to address the challenges facing the area instead of criticising the current leadership.

The Elgeyo Marakwet senator said some former leaders were going around the county undermining those in office, hence undermining service delivery.

"There should be unity among all leaders so that the development of this agenda can be pushed forward expeditiously," said Mr Murkomen.

Speaking at Kapsowar Boys High when he presided over a fundraiser, Murkomen said there should be unity of purpose so that leaders can quickly address the challenges facing the county as a close-knit unit.

YOUR MOTIVE

"During your leadership, nobody lambasted you and I wonder what your motive is now," said Murkomen in apparent address to the former leaders whom he did not name.

"This county cannot move forward when there is bickering and we should consolidate our efforts for a better county," he said.

He was accompanied by area Governor Alex Tolgos, MPs David Bowen (Marakwet East), William Kisang (Marakwet West) and Jackson Kiptanui (Keiyo South).
