Chelsea could make a move for Barcelona forward Pedro this summer

Chelsea intend to strengthen their squad for next season and are considering a summer move for Barcelona forward Pedro,  according to the Telegraph.

The 27-year-old has started just 11 La Liga games so far this term, struggling for regular first-team football given the form of front three Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

He is contracted to Barca until the end of next season, but recently admitted he was unsure what the future held.

The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are playing close attention to the player's situation, with any move likely to command a fee for around £20 million, as Mourinho goes in search of constant improvement in west London.

The Catalan side are keen to hold on to him, but Pedro could go looking for more regular first-team action this summer as he turns 28.

Pedro has won four La Liga titles during his stint at the Nou Camp as well as three Champions League medals.
