Ababu Namwamba suspended from house sittings for four days after he refused to apologise over graft claims against PAC members

Kenya: Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba has been suspended from house sitting for four days after he refused to apologise over corruption allegations against Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) members in the Sh2.9 billion confidential expenditure scandal.

He termed the report of the Committee on Privileges as "a pack of contradictions’’ adding that the investigation was predetermined and dismissed the findings as those of a Kangaroo court.

Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso reprimanded three MPs,  Ababu Namwamba(Budalangi), James Bett (Kesses) and Edick Anyanga (Nyatike) for breach of privilege.

Ababu refused to apologise while Bett did and Anyanga complied.

Nakuru Town West Samuel Arama was not reprimanded but was asked to tender an apology for speaking about parliamentary issues in the media
