Kerio Valley Development Authority invests Sh10m in green houses

Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has invested Sh10 million for the construction of greenhouses and tourist resorts in Turkana.

KVDA Managing Director David Kimosop said the duty of the organisation is to eradicate cattle rustling and border conflicts among communities.

The MD was speaking to the Press at Nawoitorong area about two kilometres from Lodwar town, while touring several projects initiated recently.

"We have set aside Sh10 million for the construction of several greenhouses to cushion the community against hunger, and resorts to promote tourism," said Kimasop.

"We have resolved to uplift the lives of people here. The county requires more human resources, especially after the discovery of underground water and oil," Kimosop added.

Other counties where KVDA has put up investments include Nakuru, Samburu, West Pokot, Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet.
