Senator: CORD rebels risk voters' wrath

Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy has warned CORD rebel MPs that they risk facing the people's wrath for failing to support the party's agenda.

Speaking as he launched the signature-collection drive for the coalition's referendum push in Lungalunga constituency yesterday, Mr Boy told the rebels to adhere to CORD's stand or risk being voted out.

"If you are subscribed to a party, then you must adhere to its stand and manifesto," said Boy, adding that Kwale people wanted constitutional amendments to enhance devolution.

Terming CORD as the only coalition with the common person's interests at heart, Boy said the Jubilee government had failed and all it was doing was giving promises that are never fulfilled.

"Let everyone adhere to the Political Parties Act so that we do away with these promises. We want the Government to act and should not be seen cheering them even when they are messing up. The referendum is going to formalise everything," he said.

Boy said they were targeting 140,000 signatures out of the 150,000 people who voted in last year's election.
