NAIROBI: The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) maintains it has no money to pay teachers increment arrived at after long court battle.

TSC chair Dr Lydia Nzomo Monday said the process of preparing September payroll has began and that only teachers who have been teaching and performing administration duties will receive full payment.

Nzomo said any teacher who has not been on duty for the last 14 days is deemed to have deserted duty.

The chair said the payroll will be closed on September 18 and those who wish to report back should do so but will only be paid for the day’s worked.

Those who will not have heeded the call by September 18 will be removed from the payroll. “Consequently their salaries will be stopped and their names struck out of the TSC payroll”, Nzomo said.
