Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche has said he is not going anywhere.

However, those close to him insist he is not happy that the Government is yet to fulfill promises given to him last year after helping Harambee Stars win the Senior Challenge Cup held in Nairobi.

Last week, Rwandan media reported that Amrouche is one of the five coaches shortlisted to take over at Amavubi Stars.

However, yesterday the New Times of Rwanda quoted Amrouche denying the reports linking him to the Rwandese job.

Quoting from Amrouche’s Facebook page, the daily said that the Belgian has instead backed current Rayon Sports coach Luc Eymael to take over the job.

“It’s not true that I am interested in the Amavubi job. I am happy with the current job of coaching the Kenyan national team, but I wish success to whoever gets the job.

“ I believe in Rwanda, they have a coach in Rayon, who can take Amavubi to another level. Give Coach Eymael the chance,” Amrouche said in his Facebook post.sIn Nairobi, a source close to Amrouche said he is not happy.

“This is one of the reasons he may have considered the Rwandan job because there, the Government  is responsible for every aspect of the coach’s welfare,” said the source.

The coach is currently out of the country attending a Uefa coaching course and is expected in Nairobi tonight. Amrouche has prioritised the team’s welfare as key even as the 2015 Africa Cup of  Nations qualifier matches begin later this year.

“He wants the Government to help the team prepare well for matches. He is committed to the Kenyan job because he sees a bright future,” added the source.

Last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta promised that the Government would pay Amrouche’s salary and also provide him with a car.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Chairman Sam Nyamweya confirmed that the Government has began paying Amrouche’s salary and there was no problem at all.

The Rwandese Football Association will name a new coach in May as they prepare to take part in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and host the 2016 Africa Nations Championships.

Apart from Amrouche, others eying the job are former APR Dutch coach Rene Feller, former Rayon Sports coach Didier Gomez da Rosa, who is now in charge of Cotton Sports of Cameroon as well as Ratomir Djukovic, who took Rwanda to the 2004 Nations Cup finals.
