Nairobi, Kenya: The police force has paid out Sh1 million in compensation to the families of 13 police officers who were killed by suspected MRC members on the dawn of the March 4 General Election.

The early morning attacks in Mombasa caused serious delays of the election process as residents were sent into disarray.

One family is however yet to receive its share as police are still waiting for the next of kin to give more details on their relation to the diseased.

Meanwhile, the security operations that had kicked of in Garissa have been extended to Baringo, Kuria and parts of Coast province to in a bid to flush out persons associated with criminal activities in those parts.
