NAIROBI; KENYA: The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will embark on voter education ahead of the March 4 General Election.

Of major significance is IEBC determination to prepare Kenyans in case of a presidential runoff.

In a paid-up advertisement, the Commission CEO James Oswago said Kenyans ought to know the number of votes a presidential candidate must garner to be declared validly elected.

Mr Oswago said during the voter education to take place in each County Assembly Ward from 10am today, Kenyans would be informed on the meaning of a presidential runoff and how it is conducted.

He said IEBC accredited voter education providers will also inform Kenyans on peaceful campaigns, making wise electoral choices, the importance of voting, election offences and penalties, voter turnout, post-election peace, and cohesion.

Oswago said Kenyans would learn what and who to expect at the polling stations on March 4.
