Journalist dies in city accident

Nairobi, Kenya: A journalist died in a road accident in Donholm, Nairobi on Thursday night. Police said sports journalist Eliud Chisika died on the spot after a car he was driving veered off the road along Jogoo Road near Donholm.

"The car veered off the dual carriage road and hit a matatu that was racing on the opposite direction killing him of the spot and injured six other passengers," said head of Nairobi traffic department Patrick Lumumba.

Lumumba said the injured are admitted in hospital in a stable condition

Another accident occurred along Mombasa road near City Cabanas on Friday morning leaving two passengers injured.

 The driver of the minibus heading to the city from Kasiekeu with 37 passengers said he was trying to avoid hitting a lorry when he lost control of his vehicle and landed into a ditch.

Kenya Red Cross officials arrived at the scene and attended to some of the injured victims.
