The official autopsy report for wrestling star Perro Aguayo Jr. has been released.

According to the report, the wrestler suffered three broken vertebrae and died almost immediately after receiving a flying kick from Mysterio that appeared to hit his head on the ring’s canvas in the process.

Video footage showed Aguayo hanging motionless from the ropes unattended as the bout continued for several minutes before a member of staff realised the severity of what happened and alerted medics.

Prosecutors have opened an investigation, and Cota Alanis said the four other wrestlers involved in the match would be questioned about the incident as well as Wrestling and Boxing Commission officials who handled Aguayo's body and the medical workers who attended to him.

Aguayo's funeral was on Sunday.
