Arsenal have made contact with Atletico Mineiro over the availability of Douglas Santos, according to Brazilian reports.

The 22-year-old is a full Brazil international having made his debut earlier this year.

He only returned to his homeland last summer after a spell in Italy with Udinese.

But it is now alleged that both Arsenal and Valencia have been in touch with Mineiro over a possible transfer to bring him back to Europe this summer.

It is believed that Douglas would be available for around £7.7million.
