Light aircraft crash lands in Njoro

A light aircraft ferrying tourists from Nakuru to the Maasai Mara national reserve has crashed in Njoro.

Nakuru County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo says three people were on board the plane at the time of incident.

"An aircraft 5Y-C11 crashed has crashed within the county at around 1330hours. ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/central/article/2001436474/light-aircraft-crashes-near-tatu-city">On board were one pilot and two tourists<," said Mwanzo.

The police boss says the plane had taken off from Lake Nakuru Lodge which is located within Lake Nakuru National Park and was heading to Mara North.

"The plane crash-landed at Koibyot Village near Likia in Mauche. The two passengers and a pilot are all safe with no injuries," said Mwanzo.

The pilot of the plane has been identified as 27-year-old Joshua Kwam whose passengers were a 28-year-old female Peru national and a French man aged 29.
