Rukwaro stomps to the Mashujaa Trophy podium in Nanyuki

Home player Anthony Rukwaro chalked 38 stableford points to claim the Mashujaa Trophy at Nanyuki Sports Club layout over the weekend.

The daylong meet was sponsored by Major General (retired) Peter Waweru.

"I have been in form lately as I have been practicing a lot to help improve on the aspects of my game that I have been experiencing challenges with but it seems that I am getting back my mojo which brings a lot of gratification. I'm also glad to win this tournament sponsored by one of the senior members, Major General Waweru. I feel honored." Rukwaro said in his speech.

Losing to Rukwaro by a single point was Club Vice-Captain, Patrick Ekwam on a score of 37 stableford points to claim Men winner prize. Gautam Gurung settled for Men winner second with 35 stableford points.

Easygoing Major General (retired) Peter Waweru who sponsored the meet was Men winner third on a score of 34 stableford points playing off handicap five beating Nanyuki Sports Club Captain, William Njoroge on countback to Men fourth on a score of 34 stableford points.

Donning the Ladies' gong was Purity Githui with 38 stableford points as Jenny Wachuka took Lady winner second on a score of 34 stableford points.

Mark Kirimi bagged Gross winner prize on 26 Gross as Patrick Karani took home the Gross winner second prize with 30 Gross.

Kavithe Kabugi won the Junior prize with a score of 25 stableford points.

Winning the First Nine was Lady Captain Marion Githinji on a score of 19 stableford points. Dr Somba Kivingu won the Second Nine prize with 16 stableford points.

Four twos were recorded by Moses Njenga on the 12th hole, Peter Waweru picked him on the 12th. Patrick Karani got his on the par-three third hole while the fourth was rolled in by Joseph Muhingo on the par-three third hole.
