High jumper Sid Imani eyes podium as Kenya gets ready to host world under 20 championships

US?Based Sid Imani Varland eyes a podium finish for Kenya in the high jump in the forthcoming world athletics under?20 championships to be held in Nairobi between August 17 and 22. Imani has been training at Moi Sports Center Kasarani and believes his body has responded well to training and looks forward to fighting it out with his peers at Kasarani. The US-based athlete hopes Kenya will make inroads in a sport that has over the years been alien to them. He is buoyed by being at home and while fans won’t be allowed for the championship, that has not dampened his spirits as he prepares for the Kasarani games.
