The sorry state of Lake Kamnarok that is fast vanishing due to choking water hyacinth

What was once a gem for Baringo county and a natural resource known worldwide is fast becoming a shell of its former self. Lake Kamnarok, found in the vast Kerio area, was once the host of the second highest number of white crocodiles, coming second after lake chad, but what was a massive water collection point has now been replaced by a green vegetation made up of water hyacinth and siltation. The various species of wild animals that were hosted in the larger lake Kamnarok game reserve are slowly vanishing in search of a better habitat. Ibrahim Karanja visited what was once a rare gem and compiled the following report.
