Highrise estate residents at the mercy of water tankers as they decry water shortage in the area

25th May, 2020

Weeks after major disruptions hit the Nairobi city water supply, a section of city residents are at the mercy of water tankers, who are cashing on the mystery of helpless residents. A section of tenants at Nyayo highrise estate, along Mbagathi road, are among those adversely affected, after nearly a month without water access. The residents, who carried out a peaceful demonstration this morning, allege a calculated move to cut the water supply, forcing them to purchase water at exorbitant costs.
