Mudavadi's rallying call for Gov't to allow Kenyans caught up with abrupt travel ban to return home

8th April, 2020

Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has called upon the government, to be lenient on those Kenyans who were “caught up in the right place at the wrong time” when it banned movement of people in and out of ‘coronavirus-infected areas’.

According to Mudavadi, there are innocent Kenyans, whose families depend on them, who were on their day-to-day business activities in these four areas, and they were caught off-guard when the government took the decision.

With Mudavadi now saying that forcing this people to stay in a place they don’t call home for 21 days is not only inconveniencing to them and their families, but also impractical.

On Monday, April 6 President Uhuru Kenyatta banned the movement of people and vehicles into and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties, as part of the efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus.
