Internet to unlock new farm practices, Embu farmers urged to utilize ICT

The Communication Authority Has Urged Farmers To Leverage On Technology And Access To The Internet To Boost Food Production Across The Country. According To Ca Acting Director General Mrs. Mercy Wanjau If Well Harnessed, The Internet Can Enable Farmers Monitor Weather Patterns And Plan Their Planting And Harvesting Season And In Turn Contribute To The Government’s Big 4 Agenda. Kenya Has The Highest Internet Penetration Rate On The Continent Which Stands At 86%. Mrs. Wanjau Was Speaking In Embu County While Touring An ICT Hub Set Up By   Local Youths A Platform To Ease Access To Online Services And Promote E?Commerce. The County Currently Has A Population Coverage Of 99.8% And 88.2% On 2g And 3g Mobile Connectivity.
