Murder over Sh20 debt

25-year-old Cyrus Nyenzo was found guilty of killing his brother Erick Munyesh on August 31, 2014 over a Sh20.

A confrontation ensued between the two before Nyenzo picked a machete and cut his brother several times. Munyesh was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival

The judge noted that though the offense attracts a maximum penalty of death, Cyrus was a young man with no family and has been in custody since 2014

Matiang'i faults age of sex consent

Interior Cabinet Secretary Matiang'i has criticized the push to lower the age of sex consent from 18-16.

He adds that there were other ways of addressing the issue of sex among adolescents

He noted that the push is ill-informed and does not represent the view of Kenyans claiming that it is driven by individuals with ulterior motives and business interest.
