The ‘race’ to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta as Mt Kenya region’s next kingpin has gathered momentum albeit at the grass root level.

With President Uhuru in his second and last term in office going to the 2022 General elections, several politicians have either expressed their desire or taken political moves that have suggested that they want to be the next kingpin of the vote-rich region.

One such politician is Gatundu South lawmaker Moses Kuria, who has declared his ‘over-ambitious’ plan of vying for presidency come 2022.

Kuria has since re-affirmed his seriousness in vying for the country’s top seat, cautioning that both Team Tanga Tanga and Team Kieleweke are bad politically for Mt Kenya region.

According to lawyer-cum-political analyst Kipchumba Karoli, Moses Kuria is an astute politician who is communicating an inscriptive message of giving the region an alternative leadership, but in real sense aiming to become Kiambu County Governor.
