You might want to blame Beyonce for the latter.

On 17th April, right in the middle of Coachella 2019, Beyonce’s premiered her documentary – Homecoming -, on Netflix. The film documentary is based off her 2018 Coachella performance.

The film is being described as an intimate look of a Beyonce concert, revealing "the emotional road from creative concept to a cultural movement.”

Now You know Beyonce outshined Coachella; because even Michelle Obama tweeted about it. A day after Beyoncé dropped the Netflix documentary, along with the surprise album, Homecoming.

The Live Album, Homecoming, features all of the music from her 2018 Coachella performance. Mrs. Obama had this to say…

“Hey, Queen! Girl, you have done it again, constantly raising the bar for us all and doing it flawlessly. I’d say I’m surprised but I know who you are. I’ve seen it up close and personal. Girl, you make me so proud, and I love you,” Michelle Obama said.

Beyonce’s 2018 Coachella performance was one for the books. Her sensational and elaborate performance — complete with 64 credited musicians, an assemblage of dancers and pyrotechnics— was an instant enchantment for the ‘Bee hive’.

She was the talk of Coachella which was re-named Beychella for the rest of the year in 2018.

Her performance’s Black cultural significance can also not be understated.

According to the New York Times Beyoncé’s show brought more than a century of black musical traditions to America’s biggest music festival.

With quotations and techniques joining her hits with Houston’s slowed-down screw music, Washington D.C.’s percussive go-go rhythms, New Orleans’ brass bands and bounce artists, the Nigerian Afrobeat of Fela Kuti, the Jamaican dancehall of Sister Nancy, the Atlanta crunk of Pastor Troy, and even a moment for “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” -  the early 1900s hymn long called the black national anthem.

This Year -  2019 Coachella -  included notable performance by Childish Gambino. His headlining came with a well-publicized, hour-long film co-starring Rihanna. TLC’s NO Scrubs has been fresh through the decades with the ladies and this Coachella was no different through Rock genre all-male band Weezer’s set, who paid tribute to the timeless hit on their covers LP, The Teal Album.

And April 21, Kanye West brought his gospel church-inspired Sunday Service performance to Coachella

Special guests included DMX, Chance the Rapper, Teyana Taylor, and others. Sunday Service merch was also for sale at the gig, including evangelical designs reading “Jesus Walks” and “Trust God.”
