LSK Representative in JSC will not practice law: MP Kanini

Kieni legislator Kanini Kega has ignited a storm within legal circles over his bill seeking to bar lawyers elected as commissioners to the JSC, from litigating in court. While Kanini maintains that his bill is meant to eliminate foul play by alleged rogue lawyers said to be colluding or intimidating judicial officers through connections to JSC, some legal experts claim this is yet another unconstitutional attempt by the political class to meddle in judicial affairs.
