The National Assembly's Committee on Education has sharply clashed with the teachers unions KNUT and KUPPET over the ongoing teacher delocalization programme. Representatives of KNUT and KUPET have accused the teacher service commission of high handedness and implementing the programme without consultations. Meanwhile, Professor George Magoha has been sworn in as the education cabinet secretary in a ceremony witnessed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
