Singer Akothee has come to the aid of Kenyan dying in the northern, dry parts of Kenya in Lodwar, Turkana County. Earlier in the week, was quoted in a press statement soon after launhing her funds' drive saying, “..you and me are the government. Together we can do it..."

Many Kenyana took to social media to praise her efforts and in true Akothee fashion it was not complete without spectacle. Dressed in a business suit as she took with the chartered flight from Silverstone Airlines, only to land in Turkana and change into their traditional attire exposing her well-endowed moisturized legs.

The Siaya beauty engaged the locals in dances, talk and celebrations. The singer also engaged in some maize mill work in reminisce of her village days in Siaya posho mills. Her visit coincided with Nairobi’s governor visit to Keiyo valley, 130km away from Lodwar. Judging by social media trends and pictorials it is safe to say entertainment personality outshone a political figure this past week in the inter-webs.

Her funds-Drive which has so far raised 3million, and is happening against the backdrop of a failed funds drive meant to help the food shortage crisis by the Kenya Red Cross and other NGOs. Kenyans on Twitter took to social media to denounce any more fund drives towards drought and food shortage crisis. The claim is that the government ought to have learned their lessons and come up with preventive measures against another 2011 crisis which saw artistes like Jay Z come donate as part of a global appeal for starving Kenyans
