UN launches programme to help eradicate Trans-boundary viral disease | NEXT FRONTIER

Goats and sheep are considered as a lifeline for families living in arid and semi-arid regions of Kenya but in the recent past. This lively hood has been threatened by a highly contagious trans?boundary viral disease known by its French name Peste des Petites ruminants or PPR that has a potential of whipping out up 80%of the countries heard in one go. Now the national government in collaboration with 27 county government and food and agricultural organization of the United Nation FAO, has launched a massive vaccination exercise to help eradicate the disease.
