Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, has supported the striking Nairobi city county workers, who began their boycott today with a view to pushing the salaries and remuneration commission and the national treasury to allow the release of funds to implement the collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated, signed and registered at the industrial and labour relations court last year. Addressing the striking workers outside city hall, Sonko, who undertook not to punish any worker involved in the strike, called upon the 13,000 striking employees not to relent until SRC and the national treasury allow the county government to operationalise the CBA.
