National assembly has summoned Agriculture and finance CS to explain the fertilizers shortage

The national assembly agriculture committee has summoned cabinet secretary for agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri and national treasury cabinet secretary Henry Rotich to appear before it on Monday next week to explain the cause of delays in importing subsidized fertilizer. Members warned that lack of subsidized fertilizer would trigger food shortage in the country. The MPs want the government to put alternative measures in place to import fertilizer ahead of the planting season expected to begin next month
