NSE reports good business as the year begins

The Nairobi securities exchange CEO Geoffrey Odundo has reported a strong start at the course this year with the NSE 20 share index scaling approximately 2940. Expectations for better performance are high and the exchange is encouraging domestic investment even as the majority ? close to 70 percent ? remains international. This will help in strengthening the market’s resilience to external events and ease investor entry and exit. As for 2019, the NSE is aiming to increase listings, enhance uptake of existent products such as the ibuka incubator program, launch the derivatives market in the first half of 2019 and upgrade the trading system to a higher version too. Another key area of focus is going to be green bonds as well as activates to support the governments big four agenda.
