Kenya civil aviation workers union has issued a seven-day strike notice in protest of the proposed takeover of the JKIA by Kenya Airways. Staff have accused management of the Kenya airports authority of being insincere about the details of the concession of Kenya Airways. The union's secretary general Moss Ndiema says the ongoing talks have excluded the workers from the ongoing talks, in an issue that will no doubt affect them.  Kenya Airways has applied to take over the management of JKIA in a restructuring plan aimed at aiding the airline's recovery and boosting its revenues.
