Uhuru blasts washenzi Moses Kuria, Kimani Ngunjiri over development remarks

8th January, 2019

President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed criticism that he has ignored the Mt. Kenya region in his project launches.

Mr Kenyatta while officiating the rehabilitation of the Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa County stated that he is the President of the entire nation and will continue to launch projects all over.

The president further referred to those accusing him of ignoring the Mt. Kenya region as “washenzi” adding that he will not be distracted in his drive for nationwide development.

Gatundu South Member of the National Assembly Moses Kuria during the new year celebrations at Thika Stadium said the president is launching development in other parts of the country except for the Central region.

Mr Kuria went as far as to say that while the Central region delivered Mr Kenyatta the presidency, the latter is only awarding certificates to rehabilitated alcoholics in the region.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri added to the criticism and said Uhuru should resign as head of state and call for a fresh presidential election.
