Two high school students from Busia County have come up with an innovation that seeks to treat and purify water using lemon and not the popular industrial water treatment chemicals. 

David Okumbo and John Wandera from St Peter’s Budokomi Secondary school, say their invention was largely informed by the need to come up with a more natural way of treating water to guard against the spread of diseases like cancer.
