COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has launched a scathing attack on DP William Ruto and company, for opposing what he terms as “inevitable and much needed constitutional reforms.”
Speaking on Wednesday, December 26 during the Maragoli Cultural Festival in Mbale, Vihiga County the vocal COTU boss insisted that the current Constitution needs amendments, which should be made as country.
Atwoli who is also a member of the International Labor Organisation said that if Ruto is opposed to the referendum push, the he should prepare his team for a NO campaign.
He appeared to pitch his desire to have a more inclusive government structure, as compared to current one which the winner of a general election takes it all.
Atwoli also criticized a section of leaders allied to the deputy president who, he says, are only attracted to him for financial handouts. He added that no politician would be able to amass the Luhyia vote without working with NASA leaders Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa.
