Kitale man is producing 40,000 pieces of carrier bags locally

A year after the implementation of the plastic bags ban, a man from Kitale in Trans Nzoia County has tapped into the business of producing carrier bags locally. John Njoroge has managed to establish a plant that produces more than 40,000 pieces of carrier bags a day. He says he was motivated by the fact that the plastic carrier bags were banned and so he endevoured to become the first person in the county to establish such a plant to tap from the local demand. Njoroge has employed more than 20 youth in his plant and began operations few months after the ban was effected.
