The launch of the Greening Kenya Initiative happened this morning at the GK prison farm. Cabinet Secretaries Prof Margaret Kobia and Keriako Tobiko presided over the event. The campaign is an offshoot project conceptualized from the collaboration between the NYS and the Kenya prisons service with the ultimate objective of developing 50 million tree seedlings for planting to contribute to the realization of the recommended 10 percent cover forest cover in the country.
