Deputy President William Ruto has defended the government’s plan to deduct 1.5 percent from employed Kenyan’s, to fund the big four’s housing agenda. Ruto’s sentiments come amidst criticism and skepticism from not only teachers' unions but also the central organization of trade unions, COTU. Those opposed are calling for more consultations on the matter.
